The Argentine played in our win over Southampton and could continue in the XI alongside one of the Belgians.

Ben Davies (LB)

The Welshman should give Danny Rose a break at the back, and start on Saturday.

Eric Dier (CM)

Dier played against Arsenal and Southampton and should continue in the team against a tough Leicester City side.

Moussa Sissoko Tottenham

Moussa Sissoko (CM)

The French midfielder was rested against the Saints but should be back in the XI to face the Foxes.

Jose Mourinho wants to sign Nemanja Matic, Ruben Dias and Bruno Fernandes

Jose Mourinho has shared his three main transfer targets to Daniel Levy, according to the Independent (h/t Express).

The report claims that Mourinho is hopeful of strengthening Tottenham in the winter window.

The three players that the new boss wants are Nemanja Matic, Ruben Dias and Bruno Fernandes (h/t Express).

Mourinho knows Matic from their time at Chelsea and Manchester United. The Serbian midfielder is set to leave the Red Devils (h/t Express) and it will be interesting to see if the manager can nab him from his ex-club.

Portuguese stars to save Tottenham’s season?

Tottenham have struggled this season for consistency. We lie 14th in the Premier League and need a string of wins to close the gap on the top four.

Fernandes has been linked with a move to the Premier League too (h/t Express) and has been in fine form this season.

The 25-year-old has eight goals this season and could provide more attacking quality to the midfield.

The report claims that Fernandes could replace Christian Eriksen, who is a free agent at the end of the season.

Dias is an interesting name, given that he is one of the brightest defenders in Portugal. The 22-year-old has forced his way into the national team and could be a long-term replacement for Jan Vertonghen or Toby Alderweireld (h/t Express).

Tottenham didn’t spend a lot during the winter windows under former manager Mauricio Pochettino.

It will be interesting to see if that changes in January as we start a new era with Mourinho at the helm.

Jose Mourinho plots Gareth Bale return as new Tottenham manager

Jose Mourinho is planning an incredible move to re-sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid.

The new Tottenham boss has a lot of work to do after a tough start to the season. Mauricio Pochettino was replaced by the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan manager, and there could be some big moves on the horizon.

Gareth Bale

AS (h/t Sun) claims that Mourinho is plotting a move to bring Bale back to Tottenham. The Welsh winger joined Real from Spurs in 2013, however, he hasn’t had the best of relationships with current manager Zinedine Zidane (h/t Telegraph).

The 30-year-old seemed set to move to the Chinese Super League in the summer but Real blocked that move (h/t Sun).

Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, has also claimed that a winter move from the Spanish capital would not take place (h/t Sun).

Euro 2020 celebrations could see Bale move

The Welshman helped his nation seal a place in Euro 2020 and his celebrations didn’t go down well.

Bale and his teammates held a Welsh flag which said “Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order”.

That could open the door for Mourinho to swoop in but Manchester United are also keen on the 30-year-old (h/t Sun).

Bale could still do a job for a top club, but he isn’t a long-term solution given his age.

It is going to be an interesting couple of months till the winter window for Mourinho. The Portuguese will have some time to judge the current crop of players and then make a decision on their futures.

Jose Mourinho aims dig at former clubs while speaking on Tottenham’s academy

Jose Mourinho has already taken a swipe at his former clubs regarding youth products.

The Portuguese became Mauricio Pochettino’s replacement after the Argentine was sacked.

Mou himself has been without a job since leaving Manchester United last year but seems ready to turn things around at Spurs.

The Portuguese doesn’t have a great track record of promoting youth players, however, he took a dig at his former clubs regarding this.

Tottenham have seen Harry Winks, Harry Kane and Kyle Walker-Peters come through the ranks, and Mourinho was open to handing young players chances.

The ‘Special One’ was speaking to the club’s channel and said (h/t Sun):

“There is not one manager in the world that doesn’t like to play young players and to help young players to develop – not one.”

Mourinho, however, claimed that his former clubs didn’t actually have a good system in place, unlike Tottenham:

“The problem is that sometimes you get into clubs where the work that is below you is not good enough to produce these players.

“So I look to our history and you see that the academy is always giving talents the first team need.

“Of course I always look forward to working with that profile.”

Spurs to make a winning start under Mou?

Our first game under Mourinho isn’t easy with trip to the London Stadium.

West Ham are also struggling under Manuel Pellegrini, and this could be a big match for both sides.

Tottenham need a win to get their season going, and we could put the West Ham manager under more pressure by beating them.

The report claims that Mourinho sees Kane as an integral part of the team and wants to win silverware with the club.

Daniel Levy agreed to the demand of keeping Kane till 2021 (h/t Daily Star) and Mourinho has a great record of winning titles during his managerial career.

However, three players could be on the chopping block by the former Chelsea and United manager.

Three big names to be let go off

The new Spurs manager is open to selling Jan Vertonghen, Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld if they do not sign new deals (h/t Daily Star).

The trio are free agents at the end of the season and it will be interesting to see what happens to them in the January window.

Mou has to work with the players at hand but could use the funds from the trios sale in the January window (h/t Daily Star).

Tottenham have a decent squad, even if we take our the out of contract trio, and this could be one of Mou’s biggest tests ever.
