Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino believes Champions League football will be played in our new stadium after getting the 1-1- result against Barcelona.

The draw, coupled with Inter Milan’s shock 1-1 against PSV Eindhoven, ensured we made it out of the group as runners-up behind Barcelona.

Spurs started the Champions League group in horrible form with just one point from three games, but we certainly turned things around after defeating PSV Eindhoven and Inter Milan in our previous games.

Pochettino was speaking after the Barcelona draw and added the result was a boost for the side (h/t Evening Standard):

“It’s a massive boost for the club and to have the idea to play in the next stage next year in the new stadium is a massive motivation for us.

“To see those players celebrate inside with the staff you feel for the first time in four and half years that something special had happened.”

The Argentine chipped in saying that he was happy for all the Tottenham fans and the belief he had in the team.

“I am so happy, so proud. I remember after [the 2-2 draw in] Eindhoven nobody believed in us. They said it was mission impossible but we are here in the last 16. We did it.”

Spurs qualifying from this group, after the first three results, will certainly remain long in the memories.

Tottenham have to build on this result, and hopefully, we will see some exciting Champions League ties at our new home soon.
