Son Heung-min is set to miss a number of games for Tottenham as the Asian Cup is held next month. The South Korean missed a few games at the start of the season when he participated in the Asian Games and won Gold with his nation.
Football.london reports that Son would not play the first two games of the competition. Philippines and Kyrgyzstan face South Korea on 7th January and 11th January respectively but our attacker would not be facing these two teams.
Son would be available for the clash against Manchester United in January before leaving for the United Arab Emirates.
The report adds that Son could miss four games for Tottenham if the national team makes it all the way to the final and we make it to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Fulham, Watford and Newcastle United would be the three Premier League clashes Son could miss, however, the clash against United could be rescheduled as the league is yet to confirm the TV fixtures for February (h/t Football.london).
The South Korean winning Asian Games gold was huge as he avoided military service with the success. It will be great for him to win a tournament with South Korea again and hopefully, we don’t miss the 26-year-old much while he is away.
