Tottenham are keeping tabs on AS Roma starlet Cengiz Under, according to Tuttomercatoweb (h/t Sun). The Turkish international is one of the brightest stars in the Serie A and has five goals and four assists in all competitions for the Italians.

The report claims that Unai Emery has tabled a bid of £29million for the 21-year-old, however, Roma want to keep hold of their winger till the end of the season.

The Italians do not want to sell in the winter window and would prefer Under to help them qualify for the Champions League and then leave in the summer.

The Serie A giants have qualified for the knockout rounds of the Champions League, and lie in sixth place.

The report adds that Spurs have “registered” an interest in the youngster and even saw a bid rejected by the Italians.

Under would be a great signing for us and Mauricio Pochettino could take the player to another level. However, getting involved in a bidding war would only be positive for Roma.

The Italians would want to get as much as they can for the winger, and Spurs have to be wary of not overspending on a player, and then ruing the transfer fee.

We have made a few mistakes in the transfer window under Pochettino, and with the club not having spent in the summer, we have to be even more careful once the winter window opens.
