Tottenham players celebrate

Full Time: Everton 2-6 Tottenham

Tottenham put up an incredible display at Goodison Park as they destroyed Everton 6-2. The win kept Spurs six points behind Liverpool but we now stand just a couple of points behind second-placed Manchester City.

Although the scoreline suggests domination, the opening goal was scored by the home side with Theo Walcott beating Hugo Lloris.

The tide turned in the 27th minute as Son Heung-min took advantage of a mix-up between Jordan Pickford and Kurt Zouma as he slotted the ball into an empty net.

Tottenham then went on to score three unanswered goals before Everton got one back. However, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min ended the night with braces, and also proved they can keep pace at the top. There were many players who had a great game, with Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen also getting goals.

Hugo Lloris of Tottenham

Tottenham Player Ratings

Hugo Lloris – 6.5/10

The Frenchman could not do much to keep the two strikes out on his return to the Tottenham side.

Kieran Trippier – 6.5/10

The English defender had an average first half but it was his free-kick that helped Kane get his first goal of the day.

Davinson Sanchez – 7.5/10

Sanchez came back into the team after recovering from an injury and he did a pretty good job at Goodison Park.

Toby Alderweireld – 7/10

The Belgian wasn’t troubled much in the game but he could have done more to stop Gylfi Sigurdsson from scoring.

Dele Alli Tottenham

Ben Davies – 6/10

Davies didn’t have a great game as he was at fault for both the goals we conceded but it didn’t matter in the end.

Harry Winks – 7/10

The Englishman was neat and tidy in the park and proved why he is important to the side now.

Moussa Sissoko – 7.5/10

Sissoko’s Tottenham turnaround continues as this was another quality display from the midfielder.

Christian Eriksen – 8/10

The Dane scored a brilliant goal in the second half and his passing was on point too.

Dele Alli – 6/10

Scored a great goal for Spurs but many will be worried about the hamstring injury he picked up.

Harry Kane – 8.5/10

The Englishman returned to the starting XI and scored a brace against the Toffees. His first was a great reaction to a free-kick while the second was a magnificent move from the side.

Son Heung-min – 9/10

Son was excellent as he scored our first goal, created one for Kane and got another with a cool finish.

Substitutes

Erik Lamela – 7/10

Got a great assist by setting up Son and did a good job coming on as a sub.

Oliver Skipp – NA

The youngster got a few more minutes on the pitch as he gave a break to Son.
