Tottenham players celebrate win over Bournemouth

Tottenham moved to second place in the Premier League, courtesy of Manchester City’s shock loss to Leicester City and our handsome 5-0 win over Bournemouth.

The Cherries did have a chance early on but once Christian Eriksen opened the scoring, there was no doubting the result.

Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura also scored in the first half to more or less wrap up the points before Harry Kane and the South Korean found the back of the net in the second half. Spurs now sit just six points behind the leaders, and there were some star performers like Kyle Walker-Peters.

Tottenham Player Ratings

Hugo Lloris – 7/10

The birthday boy made a couple of decent saves in the first half but didn’t have much to do in the second.

Kyle Walker-Peters – 9/10

Three assists in the opening 35 minutes, Walker-Peters was excellent in the attack and in the defence, and this should give him more confidence going into the second half of the season.

Juan Foyth celebrates with his Tottenham teammates

Juan Foyth – 7/10

The Argentine came back into the team after an injury and did alright against a testing Bournemouth attack.

Toby Alderweireld – 7/10

Toby can’t get too much rest these days but the Belgian did his usual bit in the heart of the defence at Wembley.

Danny Rose – 7/10

Rose seems to have lost his edge in the final third as this was another game where he could have done better with his crosses and passes in the attack.

Moussa Sissoko – 7.5/10

Another great display from the Frenchman as he ran his heart out for Tottenham.

Harry Winks – 7.5/10

We are seeing Winks slowly grow into the team and his passing was spot on as he helped Walker-Peters even set up Lucas for our third goal.

Lucas Moura – 8/10

The Brazilian scored a great goal and helped Son with his strike in the second half of the game.

Christian Eriksen – 8/10

Eriksen got the opener of the game via a deflected shot but he found Kane with a great assist in the second half to ensure we kept on scoring.

Son Heung-min – 8.5/10

Son was simply brilliant in this tie as we are seeing the best of the South Korean. He will be sorely missed when he leaves for the Asian Cup.

Harry Kane – 7.5/10

Kane got a goal to keep pace at the top of the scoring charts and made life difficult for the Bournemouth defence.

Substitutes

Oliver Skipp – 5/10

Got some minutes on the pitch in the second half.

Ben Davies – NA

Came on to provide some extra cover at the back.
