Mousa Dembele (L) and Victor Wanyama (R)

Championship side West Bromwich Albion have contacted Tottenham regarding the availability of Victor Wanyama, according to the Daily Mail.

The third-placed side in the Championship are amongst a number of clubs interested in the Kenyan, however, Wanyama wants to fight for his place in the Tottenham side, as per the report.

West Brom are looking for a quality midfielder as they look to return to the Premier League next season.

The 27-year-old has four starts to his name this season with two coming in the Carabao Cup, and one each in the Premier League and Champions League.

Wanyama has had his injury problems this season and hasn’t played for us since the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace in November.

The report adds that Tottenham are open to offers for the Kenyan, and if we cannot get him to full fitness, letting go of him would be the right call.

Wanyama isn’t the only star who has had injury problems this season with Mousa Dembele recovering from an ankle problem.

Eric Dier is out after an operation on his appendix while Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli have had their injury concerns this campaign too.

Wanyama was one of the best defenders after his move from Southampton but things haven’t worked out well for the 27-year-old due to his fitness problems.

It will be interesting to see what we do with some of the fringe players in the winter window, and it would not be a surprise if we make a deal or two in January.
