“Playing in the Premier League was always my dream” – Breakthrough Tottenham starlet opens up about struggles during initial days

Juan Foyth Tottenham

Juan Foyth has been Tottenham Hotspur’s breakout star this season. The youngster attracted eyeballs with his gutsy performances in the heart of the defence and has truly blossomed into a confident and powerful centre-back.

But in a recent interview with Spurs’ match day programme (h/t Football London), Foyth revealed that his initial days were not as smooth-sailing.

At the age of 20, it can be daunting for any player to come in and make a mark for himself, especially in a league as demanding as the English top-flight. But that did not stop Foyth from gritting his teeth and working hard to get to where he is right now.

Not shying away from crediting the team and staff, the Argentine defender said: “It’s been a really good first 16 months for me. I’m really happy to be here. The staff and my team-mates are good people so I’ve been enjoying every day, every moment I have here.

“When I arrived I was very nervous because one day I was playing FIFA at home and the next I was training with the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli, so it was a big change for me.”

He further claimed that he signed for Tottenham specifically because there are plans for every single player. Foyth also heaped praises on the backroom staff and members as he credited them for his exponential growth. However, he did open up about struggling with nervousness initially.

“I might have been nervous initially, but they received me well which gave me a lot of confidence and meant I could enjoy my time.

“Playing in the Premier League was always my dream so to get the chance to come here was great.”

The young Argentine added that his father’s support has also been instrumental in his successes, revealing that Foyth senior continues to live with him in London.

Well, it is great to see him spread his wings out. Let’s hope our young Foyth continues to progress rapidly and becomes a mainstay for us in the near future.

“Pochettino should be all over him”, “A cheat code” – Some Tottenham fans in love with the goal scored by Spurs target

Latest Spurs news: Dani Ceballos scores a stunner as Spain U21 lose to Italy U21

Dani Ceballos scored an incredible goal for the Spain U21 team as they faced Italy in the U-21 Euros.

The Real Madrid star has been linked with a move to Tottenham, according to AS (h/t Sun), after he struggled for regular game time under Zinedine Zidane.

The report claims that West Ham are also interested in the 22-year-old, but Champions League football for Spurs makes them the favourites to land Ceballos.

The midfielder curled in a great strike in the ninth minute of the game, but that was not enough for Spain to beat Italy.

A brace from Federico Chiesa was followed by a late penalty by Lorenzo Pellegrini. Tottenham had another target starting in this game as Nicolo Zaniolo (h/t Metro) of Roma played as the right-winger against the Spaniards.

Fans impressed by Ceballos’ strike

Although the Real Madrid star was not on the winning side, it still was a great finish to give the Spaniards the lead.

Tottenham need to sign some players after a couple of barren transfer windows, and it will be interesting to see if Ceballos is a part of the new faces.

Some Spurs fans were pleased with the goal scored by the 22-year-old, and here are some of their reactions from Twitter.

“I do not desire to leave” – Tottenham star wants to remain at club despite frustrating campaign

Latest Spurs news: Serge Aurier doesn’t want to leave Tottenham

Tottenham right-back Serge Aurier wants to remain at the club despite playing just 17 times this season.

The Ivorian recorded just six starts in the Premier League and suffered many injuries in the campaign. Aurier’s last game was the 1-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in March, but the right-back isn’t looking to leave Spurs.

Speaking to Canal Football Club (h/t, the Ivorian added he was happy at Tottenham:

“In football things can happen very quickly.

“For the moment I do not desire to leave Tottenham. For the moment, I am very happy.”

Aurier looking to make it back to the starting XI

Keiran Trippier is the first-choice right-back at Spurs while Kyle Walker-Peters also played a few times for us this season.

Serge Aurier celebrates

Despite the competition for places in the first XI, Aurier highlighted that injuries played a huge part in his season and was expecting a great end to the campaign with the Champions League final:

“This season I have been interrupted by injury more than anything else, but life is like that.

“We have done a good season and we are in the Champions League final, we are going to enjoy that, see how it goes and next year, my season is not finished, I still have an Africa Cup of Nations too.”

Aurier’s career at Spurs is yet to take off since his move from Paris Saint-Germain. The Ivorian has had some great games but needs to remain fit for a period of time.

Trippier’s form has gone up and down since the World Cup and Spurs could do with a reliable right-back that knows how to defend.

The right-back is only 26 and could improve in the coming season. Playing in the AFCON could be the pre-season workout he needs ahead of the next campaign, and hopefully, he comes back without an injury.

City a Step Closer to the Title, while United’s Spot in the Champions League Becomes Jeopardized after the 0-2 Defeat

The Manchester derby was undoubtedly the highlight of the current Premier League round. With only three legs left until the end of the season, the stakes were high for both sides.

While the Citizens have their sights on the title, the Red Devils are hoping to finish top four. However, the two city rivals and their fans weren’t the only ones who anxiously waited to see how the game plays out.

Liverpool is only a single point behind City. So, the result they were hoping to see was the victory of United, or at the very least, a tie. However, Man City is in top form these past few months, while United is struggling to find its footing.

All things considered, the final score was anything but a surprise. City showed that they were the better team at that moment, and not just on paper. They dominated the entire game, and took home an extremely valuable 3 points.

De Gea was on top of his game during the first half and managed to keep the ball out of his net. However, his mistakes during the second half gave City the title lead. Bernardo Silva put the Citizens in the lead at the start of the second period. After a poor reaction from the defense, and the man holding the title of the “best goalkeeper in the world,” Leroy Sané sealed United’s fate in the 66th minute.

The Crushing 0-2 Defeat

Although the score isn’t too shocking, this is the first ever 2-0 home defeat for United since the start of this year’s Premier League. With this loss, the Red Devils dropped to the 6th position on the table.

An interesting fact is that, after this game, United continues its losing streak with 7 losses in the last 9 games. This hasn’t happened since 1962. So, strictly (statistically) speaking, the odds aren’t looking too good for United.

Chelsea currently holds the fourth position, which guarantees a spot in the Champions League. The two teams are set to clash on Sunday 28th, in a game that will likely decide the end placement of the two teams. The last two games should be a breeze for both teams, and both United and Chelsea should add 6 more points to the score.

However, Arsenal is right up there with 66 points, and would benefit the most from a tie between these two. As you can see, things are heating up and quite a few teams in the PL are making their calculations.

Did You Correctly Predict the Score?

Aside from the themes and their fans, sportsbooks in the UK and all over the world highlighted the significance of this game. Many online sportsbooks even offered special and exclusive odds on this game.

As we mentioned, another potentially deciding game is just a few days away. United will host Chelsea on Old Trafford this Sunday. Technically, the final placement of the two teams won’t be decided yet, with two legs still left to be played. However, it will likely be the determining factor when it comes to deciding who will play alongside City, Liverpool, and Tottenham in the Champions League.

So, don’t fret if you didn’t correctly predict the score of the Manchester derby. You’ll have another chance this weekend. Be on the lookout for special betting lines and unique odds in sportsbooks on Sunday.

If you intend to bet online, we recommend comparing the odds in a few different sportsbooks. It’s not uncommon for some to be more generous than others. Moreover, the best ones will undoubtedly offer a wider variety of exotic bets. If that’s your cup of tea, you’ll probably have a better chance of finding the specific betting lines online, rather than in your local casino or sportsbook.

Mauricio Pochettino should be relieved at dodging the Manchester United bullet as Tottenham fly in Europe

Spurs opinion: Mauricio Pochettino dodged the Manchester United bullet by sticking with Tottenham

Mauricio Pochettino will be planning for the huge Champions League clashes against Ajax as the season comes to an end.

Tottenham saw off Manchester City in a charged quarter-final to set up a surprising date with the Dutch giants.

Ajax defeated Juventus in their Champions League tie, and have been impressive this season knocking out Real Madrid too.

Pochettino also knows there is a job at hand in the Premier League. Tottenham are not guaranteed Champions League football next season, but have fate in their own hands as they lie third in the Premier League table.

The manager has done a wonderful job without any additions to the side and should be thinking about his moves in the summer, however, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems to be making the same moves but in a completely different environment.

United struggling to get the job done

The wheels seem to be coming off the Manchester United express as they were dealt another blow in the race for the top four.

Everton destroyed Solskjaer’s team 4-0 on Sunday, and it laid bare the amount of work to be done in the summer for the Red Devils.

Harry Kane could not get past David de Gea

There was a lot of hype under the Norwegian when United went on an eight-game winning run, but now they are back to square one.

Ole even said that certain players will be sold and there would be some tough decisions once the season is done (h/t BBC):

“You can’t change your whole squad. One step at a time. I am going to be successful here and there are players who won’t be part of that.”

United’s move proves to be a blessing for Pochettino

The Norwegian’s excellent start to his interim managerial role ended up with the club appointing him as the full-time manager.

Mauricio Pochettino was linked with the role after Ole was given the interim role, and the Norwegian even claimed the Argentine had done a great job (h/t Guardian).

Naming Ole as the full-time manager now appears to be a hasty decision. The players were coming off the “new manager syndrome” after Jose Mourinho was replaced by the former Red Devil.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho

Ole saw some impressive wins, such as the Champions League win over PSG, however, the cracks are for all to see with losses against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Arsenal in recent weeks.

The club still does not have a director of football (h/t Express), and there are several egos that need to be dealt with at Old Trafford.

Pochettino doesn’t have the best Premier League squad but he is extracting the best from the team in almost every game.

Players give it their all for the manager, and we only need some quality additions to move to the next level.

Daniel Levy claimed there would be money to spend once the season is done, and hopefully, we get the right players into the team (h/t Evening Standard).

Spurs are a couple of games away from reaching the Champions League final. They have more than a great chance of finishing in the top four and are playing in one of the best stadiums in the world.

United might be capable of spending more in the summer window, but the Argentine should be relieved that he doesn’t have to join the madness at Old Trafford.
