Tottenham are one of the clubs interested in Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek, according to L’Equipe (h/t Get French Football News).

The 21-year-old midfielder has attracted interest from AS Roma, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, as per the report.

The French club want to finalise a deal for the 21-year-old and Ajax are open to selling the Dutchman for a fee of €20m, according to the report.

Tottenham could do with some quality in midfield given the injuries to several stars this season. Van de Beek would be a cheap signing compared to some of the prices being quoted for other players, and Spurs have a great relationship with Ajax in recent years.

We signed Davinson Sanchez, Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen from the Dutch giants and the 21-year-old could be a smart signing from Spurs.

Mauricio Pochettino recently claimed that it would be difficult to find the right kind of players in the winter window, and it is important for Spurs to invest in the team.

Tottenham’s midfield features some quality youngsters coming through such as Oliver Skipp, and we have seen Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks do pretty well this season. However, Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama have struggled to stay fit in recent seasons.

Van de Beek is young and working under Pochettino could see the midfielder develop into a world-class player.

It will be difficult to battle with the financial might of PSG, but with a manager like Pochettino leading us, there is always a chance of Spurs landing the player they want.
