Tottenham face competition from Arsenal for Barcelona star Malcom, according to the Sun (h/t Express). The Brazilian hasn’t been great at Barcelona since his big-money move from Bordeaux. Malcom has only started three games for the Catalan giants all season and has found the back of the net once.

Spanish reports (h/t Express) claim that Spurs have been linked with the 21-year-old, however, Arsenal have entered the race to sign Malcom on loan.

The report adds that the Gunners don’t have the money to spend under Unai Emery in January, however, they are willing to sign Malcom on loan with a view to a permanent move in the summer.

This would come as a bit of a blow to Tottenham as we have our own attacking issues at the moment. Dele Alli and Harry Kane are out until March, and Son Heung-min was away on international duty at the Asian Cup.

The South Korean should return soon after his team exited the tournament in the quarter-finals stage, however, we need to bring more options in our attack. Fernando Llorente has done an average job at the tip of the attack, but the Spaniard isn’t the right fit four our style of play.

The striker scored in our Carabao Cup semi-final exit at the hands of Chelsea but was wasteful in the 2-1 win over Fulham.

It will be interesting to see if we can finalise some deals before the window ends.
