Tottenham are lining up a £30million move for Spanish midfielder Carlos Soler, according to ESPN (h/t Express). Spurs were the only club to not spend in the summer window, and have been decimated by injuries in recent weeks.

Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Moussa Sissoko and Ben Davies are all carrying knocks, however, the report claims that Spurs will only move for the 22-year-old in the summer.

The Valencia star has a couple of goals and four assists to his name this season. Soler can play on the wing too, which would give Mauricio Pochettino plenty of scope to play him in other positions too. The report adds that Spurs have tracked the Spanish U21 player for a while and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the Valencia star.

Spurs could do with more additions to the side given we sold Mousa Dembele to Guangzhou R&F earlier in the transfer window.

Soler has the potential to be a quality addition to the side, however, the 22-year-old midfielder would be a bit of a risky signing given his lack of Premier League experience. Spurs have been burnt before regarding some high-profile signings from other countries, with Roberto Soldado struggling to score goals after his move from Los Che.

It will be interesting to see our moves in the summer window given the lack of activity in the last two transfer windows.

Tottenham need to add quality to their side and the lack of signings could prove to be detrimental to our development next season.
