Tottenham are willing to splash £50million on Bournemouth sensation David Brooks, according to the Mirror. The Welshman joined Bournemouth from Sheffield United in the summer, and has scored six goals and provided four assists from 22 Premier League appearances so far.
The report adds that Mauricio Pochettino knew about the Welsh youngster last season, but Spurs could not finalise a deal for the 21-year-old.
There is more interest for the Welshman, with Manchester United also tracking the 21-year-old, and they could make a bid in the summer, according to the report.
Brooks has done extremely well since making the jump to the Premier League and could be one of the best young players in the competition.
It is a bit of a surprise why Spurs didn’t push to land the player given that Pochettino is a wonder in working with young talent. The youngster would be a great addition to the side, and it is to be seen if we submit an official bid for the Welshman in the summer.
Spurs haven’t signed a player since Lucas Moura joined over a year ago. That makes it two successive transfer windows where we haven’t added to the side, but we are still competitive. Our win over Newcastle United pushed us into second place above Manchester City before they play Arsenal.
We also put pressure on Liverpool with the win as we lie four points behind the Reds prior to their clash against West Ham United.
