Tottenham needed another late goal to pick a win, this time against Newcastle and in the process, created a Premier League record too.

Spurs defeated Fulham, Watford and Newcastle with late strikes, and Son Heung-min was the hero for the home side on Saturday. The South Korean returned from the Asian Cup and has two goals in two games.

Spurs moved up to second in the league standings before Manchester City’s game against Arsenal and now hold the record for the longest run of games without a draw in the Premier League.

The Premier League shared a list of teams that had less than 29 consecutive games in the competition without a draw.

Bolton held the previous record in 2011 with 7 wins and 21 losses while Arsenal had the next best record with 25 games (15 wins and 10 losses).

Tottenham players celebrate

Tottenham’s record is 29 games without a draw, and it is an incredible achievement. The lack of draws has helped us do well in the league this season, however, some of the losses could have been avoided. Nevertheless, the last three Premier League games have shown that Spurs are willing to go right until the end.

We have 13 more games left in the Premier League and should we win most of them, there is a chance of us lifting the trophy.

Our achievement has been incredible given that several players have missed parts of the season through injury, and it will be interesting to see how we perform in our next game against Leicester City.
