Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown backed Mauricio Pochettino to remain at Tottenham despite interest from Manchester United. The Englishman further wanted United to sign Ole Gunnar Solskjaer permanently as their manager after another win.
The Red Devils are unbeaten in their 10 games under Solskjaer and are a couple of points outside the top four. Keown wrote in his Daily Mail column (h/t Daily Star) and claimed that Solskjaer’s side resembles that of Sir Alex Ferguson’s:
“Solskjaer has done more than enough in his first 10 games as Manchester United caretaker manager to prove he should get the job full-time.
“His team are displaying the traits of Sir Alex Ferguson’s great teams. We rarely saw that under David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.”
The Englishman highlighted how the Norwegian was taking advice from Sir Alex Ferguson and other United coaches. Keown claimed United could be waiting for Poch, however, he doubted if the Argentine would leave as we are on the cusp of moving into the new home.
“They may still be holding out for Mauricio Pochettino, but I honestly do not believe that he is going to leave everything he has built at Tottenham when they are about to move into a wonderful new stadium.”
Solskjaer has done a great job at Old Trafford and Pochettino is doing a fantastic one too given that we are still in the race for the Premier League title. However, Keown is right in suggesting that the Norwegian deserves the job given his history with the club.

The former striker is pressing the right buttons at Old Trafford and hopefully, we keep hold of Pochettino for several years to come.
