Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc is not confident whether Marco Reus will be fit for the Champions League last-16 first leg tie against Tottenham.
The Bundesliga leaders face Spurs at Wembley on Wednesday, and the German picked up an injury during the DFB Pokal defeat at the hands of Werder Bremen last week.
Reus did not feature in the 3-3 draw against Hoffenheim at the weekend as well, and Zorc told Ruhr Nachrichten (h/t AS) that he does not expect a miraculous recovery from the forward:
“I think we will decide that in the short term. But I do not expect a miraculous recovery before Wednesday.”
The 29-year-old has had troubles with injuries throughout his career but has been great for Dortmund this season.
He has scored 17 times in all competitions and supplied seven assists. The Bundesliga leaders have other threats in their attack, but for Spurs, not facing Reus will be a huge boost for the first leg, at least.
Tottenham also have Harry Kane and Dele Alli out for this game, and it will be interesting to see which attack has the upper hand on Wednesday.
Son Heung-Min has been the star of the show in the absence of the pair, and the South Korean needs to have a quality game if we are to beat the German side.

Son scored in the 3-1 win over Leicester at the weekend, and this Tottenham side should be confident of challenging Dortmund.
