Latest Tottenham news: Thomas Delaney claims Christian Eriksen is at a “great club”
Denmark and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Thomas Delaney has praised Christian Eriksen and claimed the Spurs star is playing at a “great club.”
Football.london reports that the 26-year-old has been linked with La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid as talks over a new deal at Tottenham continues.
However, Eriksen has gone about his duties in the team pretty well this season. Delaney was asked whether it was a surprise that a player of Eriksen’s ability had not played in a Champions League final yet (h/t Football.london):
“That’s a big burden to put on his shoulders to expect that from him, but I am very happy to see him at Tottenham, it seems like a great club where he feels confident and where he can express his big, big talent.”
One of the best talents in England
Eriksen is one of the best in the Premier League and can only get better with more experience under his belt. The 26-year-old has been given the license to express himself under Mauricio Pochettino, and that might not be the case if he leaves in the summer.
Pochettino deserves praise for turning Tottenham into the quality side they are, and Eriksen is a vital cog in the system.
