Latest Tottenham news: Lynsey Hooper claims Tottenham should replace Hugo Lloris

The Tottenham captain came off a great summer winning the World Cup, however, things haven’t been great for his club this season.

Hugo Lloris has had his fair shares of ups and downs in this campaign, and was involved in the 2-0 loss to Chelsea.

The first goal he conceded saw Pedro beat him at his near post while the second saw miscommunication between Kieran Trippier and the Frenchman as the right-back scored an own goal.

Speaking on the Totally Football Show, Hooper highlighted that Spurs could think about this position (h/t Daily Star):

“I actually think a lot of this match, though, we should be talking about Lloris now because I feel that he is past his best.

“And I think he’s been showing that on and off throughout this season.

“I do wonder if this is the next position that Spurs need to address, goalkeeper.”

Gazzaniga to step-up?

Lloris is one of the best shot-stoppers in football, however, the Frenchman makes a few mistakes too. The Tottenham captain was also arrested under a drink-driving charge earlier in the season, and missed a few games due to an injury.

Spurs have Michel Vorm who has a ton of Premier League experience from his time at Swansea, however, Paulo Gazzaniga should be the man to replace Lloris, if it comes to that.

The Argentine has been fantastic for us this season and is only 26. The former Southampton keeper still has a long way to go before he can be considered world-class, however, playing under Mauricio Pochettino should make him a better keeper.
