Latest Tottenham news: Fans react to Spurs setting off for training camp

The Mirror reports that Tottenham have flown to Barcelona for a mini-break after a poor run of results in the Premier League.

Spurs lost to Southampton at the weekend which made it just one point from their previous four Premier League games.

The report adds that Mauricio Pochettino could also scout potential Champions League quarter-final opponents as Barcelona face Lyon in midweek.

Spurs made it into the next round of the competition with a 4-0 aggregate win over Borussia Dortmund, however, things haven’t been great in the league.

Ben Davies spoke about the little break and claimed this could be good for the side (h/t Mirror):

“I think it will be good to hit the reset button. It’s not so much about starting again, it is about getting that rest.

“We’ve had a hectic period since December and it’s a nice break to get a few good training sessions, working as a team again and get back to winning ways after it.”

Spurs looking over their shoulders

Although we were able to welcome Harry Kane and Dele Alli back from their injuries in recent weeks, our results in the Premier League have put us in trouble of missing out on the top four.

Arsenal lie just one point behind us in fourth place in the table, while Chelsea can also reach the same number of points if they win their game in hand.

The Gunners defeating Manchester United was good for us as we remained third, however, the race for the third and fourth spot in the league will go down right to the wire.

Taking a break from England to knuckle down for the rest of the season makes sense. Hopefully, Pochettino can get the team back to playing at their best.

Our next game is against Liverpool at the end of March, and we need to get something out of the trip to Anfield.
