Latest Tottenham news: Jack Grealish attacked by Birmingham fan, scores winner in derby
Spurs haven’t signed any players for two windows, and it would have been interesting to see how Grealish would hit fit into the scheme of things had he moved to London.
The 23-year-old stuck with Villa this season and has been quality for the club, despite their problems regarding promotion.
Grealish captained Villa in the Second City Derby on Sunday and made the news for the right and wrong reasons.
The captain was attacked by a Birmingham City fan in the first half. The supporter ran onto the pitch and landed a blow to Grealish’s face, knocking him down.
The assailant was surrounded by the Villa players as he was escorted away, but Grealish simply stood up and got on with things.
Grealish has the last laugh
The English midfielder hasn’t been as prolific as last season for the Villans but had the right response for the earlier incident.
The 23-year-old scored the only goal of the game as he helped the team to a precious three points.
Grealish now has four goals and four assists to his name in the Championship this season, and it is to be seen what kind of punishment Birmingham will be handed after the incident.
