Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Ivan Perisic to be sold by Inter Milan in summer

Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Sky Sports) claims that Inter Milan are planning a summer sale with Ivan Perisic on the way out.

The Croatian was on the radars of Tottenham and Arsenal but hasn’t been great for the Milan giants this season, according to the report.

Perisic helped the national side to the World Cup final and isn’t the only one being touted for a move away.

Star striker Mauro Icardi is also on his way out after falling out with the club and having been stripped of the captaincy.

Perisic struggling at Inter

The 30-year-old is known for his work-rate on the right side of the attack, but the numbers aren’t great for the Croatian.

Perisic has scored just five times this season and has one assist to his name in all competitions. The 30-year-old is versatile enough to play across the midfield and can lead the attack too, and it will be interesting to see if we make a move for him in the summer.

The report claims that Spurs wanted the Croatian in the winter window, however, we could do with someone younger. Mauricio Pochettino has worked well with young players throughout his career.

Perisic would be a bit of a risk considering he has never played in the Premier League and at 30, he would not provide us with many years of service either.

The Inter Milan man does have the experience that a young side could do with and he would not be the worst signing if we can get him on the cheap.
