Spurs transfer news: Lyon president open to selling Tanguy Ndombele to PSG

Tanguy Ndombele has been one of the star players for Lyon since the start of last season. The 22-year-old has 41 appearances for club and country this season and has helped the French side to second place in Ligue 1.

The Mirror reports that Tottenham have kept an eye on the 22-year-old midfielder, while Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with Ndombele.

The report claims that Ndombele rejected a January move but a “war” could break out for the Frenchman, who could go for a fee of £90m.

Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas is a tough negotiator regarding player sales but recently claimed he was open to selling his star asset to Paris Saint-Germain.

The president was asked by Le Revenu if he would sell a player to PSG and named Ndombele as someone who could move to the French capital (h/t Mirror):

“Without any problem. I would be proud even.

“If PSG want to buy Tanguy N’Dombélé, there is no problem.

“There is no bad blood with the PSG board. Nasser Al Khelaifi is a loyal and brilliant man who I admire.”

Lyon willing to let Ndombele go

The report adds that Lyon hold the midfielder in high regard and would not stop him the chance of developing further should a top European club come with the right transfer fee.

His manager, Bruno Genesio, further claimed that Ndombele could be a “new Pogba” (h/t Mirror) and it will be interesting to see where the 22-year-old lands up once the season is done.

Tottenham could do with Ndombele’s physicality and technical ability in the midfield. However, it would be difficult to come out on top in a bidding war against some of the European giants.
