Spurs transfer news: Tottenham to bid for Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic in summer
Tottenham are monitoring Ivan Perisic’s situation at Italian giants Inter Milan, and are willing to bid €25m for the 30-year-old Croatian, according to Tuttomercatoweb (h/t Football.london).
Perisic was one of the stars for Croatia in the World Cup as he helped them to the final. The winger scored three goals in the tournament but his output for Inter hasn’t been great since his return.
The 30-year-old has five goals and three assists in all competitions this season, and the report claims that the winger had made his mind up to leave in January.
There were no decent offers for Perisic in the winter window, according to the report, and Inter have reduced their asking price for Perisic to €35m, which is lower than our valuation.
The winger has a contract till 2022 and the report adds that Manchester United were interested in Perisic during Jose Mourinho’s time at Old Trafford.
Spurs need more attacking options
Tottenham could do with a different dimension in their attack, which Perisic brings. However, the major concern would be his age and lack of Premier League experience.
Perisic is already 30 and would have a few more quality years left in him, further, he has never played in the Premier League, which could be a bit of a risk for Spurs.
