Spurs transfer news: Tottenham eye Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha as long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris
The Sun reports that Tottenham are interested in Lazio’s Albanian goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha as a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.
Italian reports (h/t Sun) also claim that Tottenham scouts have watched the 24-year-old several times.
The Tottenham captain has had a difficult season this time around with some major errors, the latest one being the last-minute goal conceded against Liverpool.
The 32-year-old has also had his run-in with the law regarding a drink-driving charge. Lloris has also put in some quality performances such as the performances against Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal.
The report adds that the Albanian international has three years left on his deal with the Italian club and could cost £35million.
The 24-year-old has been a Lazio player throughout his career and is one of the most impressive keepers in the Serie A.
Pochettino backs Lloris
Mauricio Pochettino backed his captain after the loss to Liverpool (h/t Sun):
“He is my captain. He is one of the best keeper’s in the world, that is not a doubt.”
The manager also claimed that Lloris would remain in goal and lamented that the goal conceded was a little unlucky.
The Argentine also can call upon Paulo Gazzaniga should Lloris need a break. The 27-year-old keeper has been great for Tottenham this season.

Michel Vorm hasn’t had much of a look in the side since the rise of Gazzaniga, and it will be interesting to see what our plans are for the keeper’s position in the summer.
