Spurs news: Tottenham provide injury updates on Harry Kane and Dele Alli

Tottenham have confirmed that Dele Alli suffered a fractured hand in the 1-0 Champions League win over Manchester City.

The England midfielder was replaced in the tie clutching his left hand, and the release from the club adds that the medical team will assess Alli’s availability for the clash against Huddersfield Town.

The club also provided an update on England captain Harry Kane, and it does not make for great reading.

No return date for Kane

The England striker injured his left ankle after going to a challenge against Fabian Delph.

The Spurs star came off worse as he had to be replaced in the second leg, and the release confirmed that the 25-year-old picked up a “significant lateral ligament injury” to his ankle.

The release adds that the striker will be assessed by the medical team, and there would be investigations regarding the injury.

There was no expected return date for the England striker too, and Mauricio Pochettino had earlier feared that Kane’s season could be over (h/t BBC).

Losing Kane would be a blow for the rest of the season and we need to be at our best to finish in the top four and defeat City in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Hopefully, Alli returns to the team for the clash against Huddersfield with some protection for his hand and finishes the season on a high.
