Spurs transfer news: Jack Grealish has £60million release clause in Aston Villa contract
The Mirror reports that Championship star Jack Grealish has a £60million release clause in his Aston Villa contract.
The 23-year-old has six goals and six assists to his name this season, and the report claims that Tottenham weren’t willing to pay £25m for the midfielder last season.
The report adds that Villa wanted to protect their asset from leaving on the cheap as Grealish signed a new contract in September, and the huge release clause is a message to interested parties like Spurs.
Villa preparing for promotion
Grealish is an important player for the Championship side as they look to achieve promotion.
The side lost out last season and the English midfielder has to be at his best to bring the Villans to the Premier League.
Tottenham, for their part, need to spend in the summer after two barren transfer windows. The last player we signed was Lucas Moura while we have seen Mousa Dembele leave in January.
It will be interesting to see how Villa do in their quest for Premier League football. Losing in the playoffs would be a huge blow to the side and hopefully, we can take advantage of the situation.
Grealish would make a decent addition to this team and Mauricio Pochettino would be able to develop the youngster into a world-class talent.

It will also be interesting to see how much we could bid for Grealish if we are serious about signing him in the summer.
