Spurs transfer news: Tottenham need to spend at least £60m to sign Harry Maguire

The Sun reports that Leicester City defender Harry Maguire is set to play his final game for the Foxes on Sunday.

The 26-year-old had an excellent World Cup with England and helped them to the semi-finals of the tournament.

Maguire has played 30 games in the Premier League for the Foxes and has three goals to his name too.

The report claims that Tottenham will be in the market for a defender as Toby Alderweireld could leave in the summer.

Spurs would be one of the suitors for the English centre-back and the Foxes want £60m for the 26-year-old, according to report.

That would be a record fee for a British defender, and the report claims that Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are also interested in the 26-year-old.

Leicester having done well under Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers came midway through the season to take over from Claude Puel and has done a decent job for the Foxes.

The Foxes lie ninth in the table and could finish the season in eighth if things go their way.

Maguire has been one of the best defenders for clubs outside the top six, and it will be interesting to see if he moves away from the Foxes in the summer.

Spurs need to make some signings for the defence. Jan Vertonghen isn’t getting any younger and we only have Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth as cover for our first-team pairing.

Alderweireld and Vertonghen have been incredible together, but we need one more quality centre-back to provide cover for the pair.
