Latest Spurs news: Several fans want Toby Alderweireld to stay after final game of Premier League season

Tottenham ended the Premier League season with a 2-2 draw against Everton and confirmed their place in the top four.

Eric Dier gave us the lead before Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun scored for the Toffees. Christian Eriksen ensured we ended the season without a defeat, thanks to a trademark free-kick.

Champions League football returns to Tottenham next season, and we could also win the title when we play Liverpool in the final on 1st June.

The players and the staff took a lap around the stadium and Toby Alderweireld shared a great message regarding the club.

The former Southampton and Ajax defender has been linked with a move away in the summer and is only contracted to Spurs until the end of next season (h/t Sun).

Alderweireld a rock at the back for Spurs this season

The 30-year-old has been one of the few players not to have picked up a major injury this season. The Belgian is also one of the most consistent players in the team, and it would be a bit of a shame if we lose him on the cheap next season.

Alderweireld could lead us to Champions League glory on 1st June and many fans did not want to see him leave Spurs soon.

Some fans replied to Toby’s tweet, asking him to sign a new deal, while a few wished the defender all the best if this was his final home game for us.
