Spurs transfer news: Mauricio Pochettino’s cousin backs move to Juventus
Mauricio Pochettino’s cousin claims that the Tottenham manager would be a good fit for Juventus.
The Italian giants have parted ways with Max Allegri after five seasons despite the Italian winning the league title in every season. However, the Champions League evaded Allegri, with Juve losing two finals.
Poch’s cousin, Daniele, believes the Spurs boss has the qualities to manage the Italian giants.
Speaking to Tutto Juve (h/t Mirror), Poch’s cousin also backed him to do well in the Champions League final:
“In my opinion [Pochettino replacing Allegri] could be feasible, because Mauricio is a coach who has shown he knows how to work well and reaching the final with Tottenham is a clear example.
“If he plays it like he does all games, for me it’s the right year to win. I met him a few months ago, I met a very nice and helpful person.”
Juve looking for Champions League glory
Daniele also suggested that Juventus’ goal is to win the Champions League and Pochettino had proved his experience in the competition by taking this Tottenham side to the final.
Poch’s cousin believes the Spurs manager is “attracted” to Italy but could not confirm if Juve could pry him away from Tottenham:
“He is certainly attracted to Italy, he told us he would like to come here to find his ancestors. We also talked about Piedmontese cuisine, which he would like to try again.
“The desire is there, but honestly I don’t know if they can convince him. The decision clearly falls to him.”
Pochettino has done a great job at Tottenham and it will be interesting to see what happens in the coming months.
The Argentine is one of the best managers we have had in the Premier League era and he could become a legend if he sticks around and wins a few trophies.
