Spurs transfer news: Tottenham speak to Barcelona about Malcom

Spanish publication Sport (h/t Express) claims that Tottenham have asked Barcelona about Malcom while talking up a deal for Andre Gomes.

Gomes spent the recently ended season with Everton and did a great job in the second half of the campaign under Marco Silva.

The Express reports that Tottenham want to sign the Portuguese midfielder and could sell Victor Wanyama in the summer.

Mousa Dembele was sold in the winter window while Gomes would provide some competition and cover for Moussa Sissoko too. The French midfielder has thrived this season and has helped us reach the Champions League final.

Malcom has struggled for games at Barcelona, but the club will not let him leave on the cheap.

Barca still want a major amount for Malcom

The Brazilian was great for Bordeaux a couple of seasons ago but has struggled to get goals at Barcelona.

The report adds that the Catalans have slapped a £35m tag on the 22-year-old. Malcom has only scored 5 goals all season and is willing to listen to offers to move away from the La Liga side (h/t Express).

Malcom is also being linked with other clubs in England, Italy and Germany but the report claims that Tottenham are in the best position to land the Brazilian.

The Brazilian could be a bit of a risky signing given that he struggled at the Catalan side, however, it is difficult to break into a team that features Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele.
