Spurs transfer news: Monaco contact Tottenham regarding right-back Serge Aurier
France Football (h/t Football.london) reports that Ligue 1 giants Monaco have contacted Tottenham regarding Ivorian defender Serge Aurier.
The 26-year-old has struggled for regular starts at Tottenham despite Kieran Trippier’s poor form this season.
Aurier only has 15 starts in all competitions this season, and the report claims that Monaco are looking to take advantage of this situation.
The Ivorian joined Spurs from Paris Saint-Germain and is yet to string several starts in a row under Mauricio Pochettino. The report adds that Aurier is seen as a replacement or competition for Djibril Sidibe for the club from the Principality.
Sidibe has attracted interest from several clubs and the report claims that Monaco feel a deal of €15m plus add-ons will be enough to sign Aurier from Spurs.
Tottenham need to solve their right-back problem
Trippier and Aurier didn’t have a great season this time, however, the Ivorian did have his fair share of injury problems.
The English defender struggled a lot but should start in the Champions League final on Saturday.
Aurier needs to pull his socks up if he wants to stay at Tottenham, and it will be interesting to see what happens to the pair in the summer.

Spurs need to upgrade several positions in the team next season and we could do with a reliable right-back coming in even if we have to sell Aurier and Trippier in the summer.
