Spurs transfer news: Tottenham ready to submit £40m bid for Nicolo Zaniolo

Calciomercato (h/t Sun) reports that Tottenham are ready to submit a £40m bid for Italian sensation Nicolo Zaniolo.

The AS Roma teenager scored six times for the club last season and provided a couple of assists too.

The 19-year-old played for the national side and the report adds that Juventus are interested in the attacker.

The report claims that Fabio Paratici, Juventus’ sporting director, already spoke with Zaniolo’s agent Claudio Vigorelli recently.

Swap deal could be on the cards for Juventus

Roma are interested in Juve’s Mattia Perin, and the report claims that the Serie A giants could offer him as a part of the deal.

However, Roma could sell Zaniolo for a decent sum and the £40m offer from Tottenham could be difficult to resist for the Serie A side.

Roma also missed out on the Champions League for the upcoming season whereas Spurs lost to Liverpool in the final.

Tottenham will play in the competition next season and the report claims that Mauricio Pochettino has identified Zaniolo as one of his priority signings for Spurs.

The 19-year-old can play in several positions and is one of the brightest stars in the Serie A. Spurs didn’t spend money on fresh faces last season but Pochettino needs some signings this summer.
