Spurs transfer news: Everton want Danny Rose and cash for Lucas Digne

The Mirror reports that Everton want Tottenham to part with Danny Rose and add a transfer fee if they want to sign Lucas Digne.

The French left-back enjoyed a great first season with the Toffees scoring four goals and providing four assists under Marco Silva.

The report claims that Everton signed Digne for £18million from Barcelona and believes his fee has doubled in one season at Goodison Park.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino wanted Digne last season but was unable to move for the left-back due to a lack of funds, according to the report.

The report adds that Everton do not want to lose Digne and any deal for the Frenchman has to include Rose and some money.

The Englishman is the first-choice left-back at Spurs and the report claims that Everton’s demands could be too much for Spurs.

Upgrades needed at Tottenham

Tottenham need to sign upgrades for several positions, and we could use an improvement on Rose.

Digne might have done well in his first season at Everton, however, he doesn’t seem to be a major step up from Rose.

The English defender did well in the second half of last season as we reached the Champions League final, and was even selected for the Nations League finals by England.

The 28-year-old could still have a role to play for us next season as we have to build on our Champions League final appearance.
