Spurs transfer news: Tottenham contact Barcelona over Malcom

Mundo Deportivo (h/t Football.london) reports that Tottenham have been in contact with Barcelona over attacker Malcom.

The report claims that Arsenal have also been in contact with Barcelona over a possible move for the 22-year-old winger.

Malcom joined Barcelona at the start of the season but struggled to hold down a place in the starting XI. The former Bordeaux star started just nine games in all competitions and managed to score just four goals during the season.

The report claims that the player could be out of the Nou Camp after one season at the club, and Barcelona are aware of the interest from the two clubs.

Agent meeting with Barcelona soon

Malcom’s agent is set to meet with Barcelona next week regarding the player’s position at the club, according to the report.

The agent is also aware of the interest that Tottenham had in the 22-year-old during the January transfer window (h/t Football.london).

Malcom’s form has been erratic at Barcelona and it will be interesting to see if we make a serious bid for the 22-year-old.

Mauricio Pochettino could resurrect the Brazilian’s career after the Barcelona season, however, Spurs need to sign quality players that can improve the team.
