Spurs transfer news: Juventus make contact regarding Tanguy Ndombele
Sky Sports (h/t Calciomercato) claims that Serie A giants Juventus have begun preliminary discussions to sign Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele.
The 22-year-old midfielder impressed for the Ligue 1 side last season as he played more than 50 games for club and country combined.
The defensive midfielder is contracted with Lyon till 2023, and the report claims that he has a €70million price-tag on his head.
Ndombele is one of Juve’s long-time targets, however, the Serie A champions are not willing to meet Lyon’s asking price (h/t Calciomercato).
Tottenham already held talks for Ndombele
The Guardian reported that Tottenham had opened talks over the France international, but his valuation is a problem too.
The report added that we value Ndombele at €50m, and negotiating with Lyon chief Jean-Michel Aulas will be difficult.
Aulas stated that he was negotiating with “the biggest European clubs” for the Frenchman, and Pochettino told Daniel Levy that Ndombele is the right kind of player for Tottenham (h/t Guardian).
Spurs need a midfielder in the team after selling Mousa Dembele in the January transfer window.
Most of our first-team midfielders suffered injuries in the previous campaign, and Ndombele’s presence could make our us tougher to break down in the middle of the park.
