Spurs transfer news: Tottenham are not in an advanced stage regarding Jack Clarke negotiations

Football.london reports that a deal for Jack Clarke is not at “an advanced stage” despite some outlets claiming that Tottenham have signed the Leeds starlet.

The 18-year-old broke into the first-team under Marcelo Bielsa last season and put up some impressive performances.

Clarke started just five games in all competitions but racked up 25 appearances for Leeds. The 18-year-old winger also scored two goals and provided two assists in the Championship.

Football.london claims that Clarke caught the eye of Spurs scouts, and discussions have been held regarding the player that Leeds value between £12m and £20m.

One issue regarding the player is whether he is ready for Premier League football. The report adds that there have been talks of sending Clarke back on loan to Leeds, however, the chances of such a deal would diminish if the transfer fee is high.

Clarke would be a great signing for Spurs and could develop into a world-class player. The English youngster requires regular starts and a loan deal is possibly the right decision should we move for him.

It would be great if Mauricio Pochettino uses his links with Bielsa to sign Clarke.

Tottenham targeting another youngster

Spurs need a quality winger to join but the report claims that 19-year-old Max Aarons of Norwich is a target too.

The right-back impressed as the Canaries secured promotion to the Premier League, and the defender is seen as a potential replacement for Kieran Trippier (h/t Football.london).

Trippier has attracted attention from Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Napoli, and Spurs would move for Aarons should the 28-year-old leave.
