Spurs transfer news: Tottenham close to landing Leeds star Jack Clarke
The Express reports that Tottenham are close to signing Leeds United’s Jack Clarke.
The youngster broke into Marcelo Bielsa’s team last season as they missed out on promotion to the Premier League.
The 18-year-old winger scored two goals and provided two assists from five starts in all competitions.
Clarke made 25 appearances for Leeds but most of them were from the bench.
The report adds that Mauricio Pochettino will splash £15m on the winger as Spurs look to sign their first player in over a year.
Clarke still is a little rough around the edges, and the report claims that the English winger could be sent back on loan to the Championship side as part of the deal.
The report adds that Clarke is expected to play a big role in Leeds’ promotion push next season if he stays at Elland Road.
Sending Clarke back on loan would be a smart move
The 18-year-old displayed flashes of brilliance last season, but still needs more starts under his belt.
Joining Spurs would be great for his development, but he would not start too many games under Pochettino.
Sending back to Leeds for another season in the Championship would be great for his development, and hopefully, we can wrap up this signing quickly.
