Spurs transfer news: Tottenham interested in 19-year-old starlet Rekeem Harper

The Mirror reports that Tottenham are interested in West Bromwich Albion’s 19-year-old midfielder Rekeem Harper.

The report adds that the teenager is out of a contract at the end of the month, and has not been able to agree on a new deal with West Brom.

Slaven Bilic was appointed as the new West Brom manager recently, and the report claims that the new boss wants to keep hold of Harper to ensure a promotion push.

The Baggies lost out on the race for Premier League promotion last season, and it is to be seen how they strengthen the team for the upcoming campaign.

However, the report claims that West Brom could lose Harper for a small compensation fee, with Liverpool and Juventus also interested in the 19-year-old.

The English midfielder played 23 times for the Baggies last season and recorded a goal and an assist in the Championship.

Harper has been at the club since the age of 12, and it will be interesting to see if he decides to leave the club in the summer.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has a history of working well with young players, and Harper could be another starlet that reaches his potential under the Argentine.

The best example of Pochettino doing well is with Dele Alli, as the former MK Dons star is now an England international.
