Spurs transfer news: Maxi Gomez wants to know if Tottenham are interested in signing him

Spanish outlet El Desmarque (h/t Daily Star) claims that Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez wants to know Tottenham’s stance regarding a move for the 22-year-old.

The Uruguayan striker scored 13 times and provided five assists in La Liga last season, and the report claims that Spurs have been linked with a move for Gomez.

The report adds that London rivals West Ham have made Gomez their top target, but the Uruguayan isn’t sure of joining the Hammers.

The 22-year-old wants to play top level football and isn’t looking at the most lucrative deal for his next move, according to the report.

La Liga side also in the running for Gomez

The report claims that Valencia are also interested in the striker, and Los Che have qualified for next season’s Champions League too.

Tottenham wil also play in the Champions League, and the report adds that Gomez prefers a move to one of the clubs.

West Ham have already seen a £29m bid for Gomez rejected by Celta, but the report suggests that the La Liga giants are looking to cash in on their star striker.

Spurs could do with someone taking the load off Harry Kane next season. Gomez would have to deal with being the second choice striker, should he join Tottenham in the summer.
