Spurs transfer news: Clarke to be sent back on loan once deal is done
Phil Hay, formerly of the Yorkshire Evening News, claims that Tottenham will sign Jack Clarke today but send him back on loan to Leeds (h/t Express).
The Express adds that the youngster will continue his development with Leeds next season as they look to reach the Premier League.
Leeds missed out on promotion last time around despite making the play-offs, and Clarke was one of the breakout stars under Marcelo Bielsa.
The 18-year-old played 25 games under the Argentine, but most of those appearances came off the bench.
Clarke managed to score two goals and provided two assists too, and the Express claims that Spurs have splashed out £10million to secure his services.
The report adds that the English winger has already undergone his medical, and Spurs just have to announce the deal.
Clarke needs more time to develop
Sending the youngster back to the Championship makes sense as he would get more playing time under Bielsa. Clarke has to become a regular starter under the Argentine and hopefully, he improves further in the coming season.
The 18-year-old could be another fantastic player for the future, and Mauricio Pochettino has worked well with English talents throughout his time in the Premier League.

Dele Alli is the best example of a player coming through the lower leagues and doing well at Tottenham, and Clarke could be on a similar trajectory.
