Spurs transfer news: Tottenham complete second signing of the summer
According to BBC, Tottenham have completed the signing of Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele for a fee of £53.8m.
The French midfielder was been linked with Spurs for a while, and the club have now officially signed the Frenchman.
However, the fee could rise up to £62.8m with add-ons and Ndombele is our second signing of the summer after Jack Clarke of Leeds United.
The Frenchman has signed a long-term deal running upto 2025. Tottenham’s previous transfer record was the £42m paid to sign defender Davinson Sanchez from Ajax in August 2017.
The 22-year-old has been impressive for club and country over the past season, and the Daily Mail claims that Mauricio Pochettino prioritised Ndombele’s signing in the summer.
The midfielder should slot straight into the first-team and could be a quality replacement for Mousa Dembele.
Signing Ndombele is a statement of intent from the club. After a couple of barren transfer windows, it looks like the management is really particular about building on the incredible Champions League run that the team produced last season.
