Spurs transfer news: Pochettino wants Diaz included in any deal for Eriksen
Mauricio Pochettino has asked for Real Madrid striker Mariano Diaz to be included in any deal that may see Christian Eriksen leave, according to El Desmarque (h/t Daily Star).
The Spanish striker played 13 La Liga games for Real after joining from Lyon last season and bagged three goals.
The report claims that Real are interested in signing Eriksen since their Paul Pogba chase isn’t going to plan.
Eriksen wants to join Los Galacticos but Tottenham don’t want to lose him without signing a replacement, according to the report.
Giovani Lo Celso and Dani Ceballos have been linked with Spurs, and the report claims that Pochettino is interested in signing a striker too.
Harry Kane had injury problems last season while it is unclear what the future holds for Fernando Llorente as his contract came to an end in the summer.
Diaz, however, won’t be easy to pry away as he wants to stay at Real (h/t Daily Star):
“My plan is to continue here, with my team. I want to show what I came here to do.
“I fought hard to get to Real Madrid. I’ve worked really hard and I’ve always wanted this. Now I’m here so I’ll do my best to play in the best team in the world.”
This is Diaz’s second stint at Real after failing to light up the Santiago Bernabeu earlier.
Spurs need cover for Kane
Although Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura can play as strikers, we need a versatile forward who can play out wide too.

Erik Lamela’s season was hampered by injuries last time around, and a versatile forward could be a smart addition to the team.
