Spurs transfer news: Marca claims Arsenal are leading race for Ceballos

Marca (h/t Express) claims that Arsenal are now leading the race to sign Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid.

The Spaniard has been linked with Tottenham for a while, and Sky Sports had reported that Spurs were in talks with Real over Ceballos.

However, Marca (h/t Express) has put Arsenal in pole position to sign Ceballos after the Spanish star had a great U21 Euros.

The 22-year-old is one of the brightest talents in La Liga but could not get regular starts under Zinedine Zidane last season.

The report claims that Arsenal are looking to sign Ceballos on loan with an option to buy the 22-year-old later.

Madrid want to include a buy-back clause in any deal for the Spaniard and are looking to raise funds for further signings in the summer.

Arsenal don’t have a lot of funds

This would come as a blow to Spurs given that we have been linked for a while, but the report adds that Arsenal have limited funds to spend in the summer.

Tottenham have already signed Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon, and we also have the lure of Champions League football next season.

Ceballos needs to play more games next season and he should improve further under Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine has done well with several young players throughout his career and hopefully, we can beat the Gunners to sign Ceballos.
