Spurs transfer news: Tottenham reject offers for Walker-Peters

The Sun reports that Tottenham are rejecting offers for right-back Kyle Walker-Peters. The 22-year-old played six Premier League games for us last season, with four starts to his name.

The English defender also played in some of our Champions League clashes but did not get enough minutes to hold down a regular starting spot.

The report claims that Crystal Palace and Brighton were interested in taking Walker-Peters on a season-long loan.

However, Walker-Peters will remain at Tottenham, as the Englishman is the only available senior right-back at the start of the season.

Spurs sold Kieran Trippier to Atletico Madrid recently, while Serge Aurier’s return has been delayed due to his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Walker-Peters also started last season as the first-choice right-back due to the exploits of our senior players in the World Cup.

A chance for KWP to shine

The youngster has another chance to cement his place in the first-team and it will be interesting to see how he does against Aston Villa.

Walker-Peters held his own against Juventus in our first pre-season game and has to take this opportunity handed to him.

Aurier has had his injury problems in recent years, while Juan Foyth can also play as the right-back.

However, the Argentine will miss a couple of Premier League games as he carries his suspension from last season.
