Spurs transfer news: Tottenham interested in Barcelona’s Malcom

Mundo Deportivo (h/t Independent) claims that Tottenham are considering reigniting their interest in Barcelona’s Malcom.

The 22-year-old joined the Catalans from Bordeaux last summer but has struggled to perform for the La Liga giants.

Malcom scored just one goal from 15 league appearances last season. The winger scored 12 times and provided seven assists in Ligue 1 before jumping to Barca.

The report claims that Tottenham will battle Everton for the Brazilian’s signature.

Barca want big bucks for Malcom

The Catalan giants won’t allow Malcom to leave on the cheap and believe that they can make a profit on the £45m they paid for the winger (h/t Independent).

The Brazilian has the talent to thrive in an attacking team, but things have not gone well for him since his move from France.

Tottenham cannot afford to take a big-money risk in the summer and have been smart in their deals so far.

Tanguy Ndombele could be a fantastic signing for us in the coming seasons, and we have also captured Jack Clarke from Leeds United. The English winger has returned to the Championship side on loan.

Spurs could do with some more quality out wide as Erik Lamela struggled with injuries last season, but we need to be smart with our spending.
