Latest Spurs news: Pochettino wants Tottenham to change his designation due to lack of transfer details

Mauricio Pochettino claimed Tottenham should change his job title to coach due to a lack of information regarding transfers.

Spurs have signed two players this summer, with Tanguy Ndombele starring in the pre-season campaign.

Jack Clarke was sent back on loan to Leeds United after making his move, however, Pochettino claimed he does not have information regarding the ins and outs at Tottenham.

Danny Rose’s future is also up in the air after being left behind before the Asia pre-season tour.

However, the left-back played in the 1-0 Audi Cup win over Real Madrid, and Pochettino avoided questions regarding the defender’s future (h/t Guardian):

“I am not in charge and I know nothing about the situation of my players. I am only coaching them and trying to get the best from them. Sell, buy players, sign contract, not sign contract – I think it is not in my hands, it’s in the club’s hands and [chairman] Daniel Levy.”

The manager continued and claimed that a change in job title could take place as he feels like he is the coach:

“The club need to change my title and description. Of course I am the boss deciding the strategic play, but in another area I don’t know. Today, I feel like I am the coach.”

Eriksen’s future is also in doubt

The Guardian reports that Christian Eriksen’s future is also in doubt, but the Dane started in the 1-0 win over Real.

Harry Kane got the only goal of the game in the first half and Spurs look to be in decent shape ahead of the new season.

The report adds that Pochettino has been left frustrated with Spurs’ transfer dealings in the past and hopefully, this does not affect the future of the manager.
