Spurs transfer news: Tottenham agree on €60m deal to sign Lo Celso
The Guardian reports that Tottenham have agreed on a €60m transfer fee to sign Giovani Lo Celso.
The Argentine midfielder was great for Real Betis last season after joining them from Paris Saint-Germain on loan.
The report adds that Spurs are expected to be busy on the final day of the transfer window, but are yet to agree on personal terms with Lo Celso. The Argentine was withdrawn from the Betis squad to face Las Palmas in a friendly on Wednesday.
Lo Celso is expected to arrive in London today for his medical, and his transfer fee matches the club-record we spent on Tanguy Ndombele (h/t Guardian).
The 23-year-old scored nine times for Betis in the Spanish league and played in this summer’s Copa America.
Spurs spending big in the summer
Tottenham didn’t sign any player last season but have landed Ndombele and Jack Clarke so far this summer.
Mauricio Pochettino had urged Daniel Levy to splash the cash this time around, and it seems that the chairman is backing the manager.
Pochettino did a great job by leading us to the Champions League final last season and hopefully, we can go one better with the new additions to the team.

Tottenham cannot buy players after Thursday’s transfer deadline, however, they can sell players to foreign clubs until the end of the month.
