Latest Spurs news: Sessegnon excited to play at new Tottenham Stadium
Tottenham were one of the busier clubs on transfer deadline day. Mauricio Pochettino’s side captured Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon in the final hours of the window.
That marks a great transfer window with Spurs keeping hold of all their stars and adding Tanguy Ndombele to the team.
Sessegnon is one of the best talents in the English system and signing him from Fulham is a bit of a coup.
The 19-
“I can’t wait to get out there and play at the new stadium.
“I’ve seen pictures, but I’ve not been there yet. I’m so excited to go and see it. The first time I step out there will be crazy.
“I watched the first game against Palace (a 2-0 win in our opener in April) and the atmosphere was amazing. I want to be part of that.”
The right time to join Tottenham
Spurs have been one of the most consistent teams in the Premier League over the past four years. Pochettino has turned the team around and we are regulars in the Champions League too.
We reached the final of the competition in the last campaign and have been involved in a Premier League title chase too.
Sessegnon claimed that this was the “right time” to join the side and was confident Spurs would win titles in the coming years.
The 19-year-old was asked about his targets for the season, and Sessegnon said he wants to work hard and do well:
“First and foremost, to work hard and to learn from everyone in the team. I want to learn what it means to play for Tottenham, the honour of the Club. I’ll work hard to try to earn my spot and hopefully get some minutes under my belt.”
Sessegnon can play in the attack or as a left-back and it will be interesting to see how Pochettino uses him.
