Latest Spurs news: Ndombele shines on debut in win over Aston Villa
Tanguy Ndombele started his first competitive game for Tottenham and helped his side to a 3-1 win over Aston Villa.
The Frenchman was one of the biggest transfers of the summer and looked great for Spurs.
Villa had taken a surprise lead, with John McGinn scoring in the ninth minute, but Spurs piled on the pressure after that. Ndombele scored a screamer from outside the box, with Tom Heaton having no chance of saving the shot.
Harry Kane then wrapped up the points with two fine finishes in the dying minutes, but our summer signing looks to be a great acquisition.
Fans impressed by Ndombele
The 22-year-old was involved in almost everything we did yesterday. He was breaking up the play, starting attacks and even making runs into the box.
There were some touches that didn’t go as planned but the goal from the Frenchman was incredible. Spurs needed someone like Ndombele to marshal the midfield and take them to the next level.
This is just the start for the Frenchman at the club, and the initial signs look great. Ndombele will face tougher tests against better opposition, but he seems capable of holding his own in the Premier League.
Many fans were excited after the Frenchman’s goal and some believed Ndombele was a bargain signing for the club.
