Spurs transfer news: Juventus eye Christian Eriksen on a free transfer

Italian giants Juventus are eyeing a move to sign Tottenham star Christian Eriksen on a free transfer by the end of this season, according to Mail Online.

With Eriksen not having signed a new deal with Spurs, the Italian side is looking to make use of the situation and sign him for free when his contract expires at the end of this season.

The Danish star can discuss personal terms with foreign clubs from January if he doesn’t sign a contract extension with Tottenham before that.

Eriksen is not the only player in the final year of his contract

Belgian stars Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen are also in the final year of their contracts and it remains to be seen as to what the club does in order to hold onto the players.

Christian Eriksen is a key player in the team and his impact against Aston Villa last weekend is a testament to the same. Losing him for free would be a huge loss given the player’s market value and talent.

It would be very difficult for Pochettino to replace him, especially now that the transfer window is closed for us.

We must either cash in on him now or make him sign an extension and then offload him so that we end up making money from his sale.

It would be a huge boost for the club if Eriksen signs a new contract with us and stays for a long time. This is not the first time that Juventus are targeting a player on a free transfer, given that they recently signed Aaron Ramsey, Adrien Rabiot and Emre Can, saving millions of money.
