“Of course I’m grateful”: Pochettino responds to Jose Mourinho’s Premier League prediction

Spurs transfer news: Pochettino responds to Mourinho’s title prediction

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has expressed his love for Jose Mourinho after the Portuguese manager’s Premier League prediction.

Jose Mourinho earlier gave his opinion on who the Premier League title challengers are. He said (h/t Guardian) that Manchester City, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester City B team are the contenders for the title.

Now, Pochettino has responded to those comments. The Argentine was quoted by Football.London as saying,

Wow. I love Mou. You know very well. He’s so clever and so sarcastic sometimes. That’s why he’s one of the best managers in the world and I respect his opinion.

Of course I’m grateful because a manager like Mourinho believes we have the potential to be contenders. That’s important. We have our belief and faith in us and we know very well us but that compliment helps us to believe in ourselves a little bit more.

Tottenham are certainly capable of challenging for the Premier League title given the quality of the squad at Pochettino’s disposal. Yes, Manchester City and Liverpool are too strong to deal with but nothing is impossible in football.

If there’s one team in the Premier League right now that is capable of challenging City and Liverpool it’s Tottenham.

If we capitalise on the key moments and get lucky with injuries, we can surely push hard for the league title.
